Foreign-owned enterprises in Lithuania

In 2018, 6,162 foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises carried out economic activity in Lithuania. Against 2017, the number of non-financial enterprises increased by 6 per cent and made up about 2 per cent of all non-financial enterprises in the country.

In 2018, there were 170 thousand employees working in foreign-controlled enterprises. Against 2017, the number of employees in foreign-controlled enterprises increased by 4 per cent and made up about 16 per cent of all employees working in the business sector.

In 2018, income of foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises amounted to EUR 30.8 billion, and made up 33 per cent of income of all non-financial enterprises in the country. Against 2017, income of foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises increased by 12 per cent.

In 2018, the value added (at production costs) generated by foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises amounted to EUR 6.1 billion and made up 28 per cent of the value added generated by all non-financial enterprises in the country. Against 2017, the value added generated by foreign-controlled non-financial enterprises increased by 15 per cent.
