As of 1 January 2022, there were 113,516 economic entities operating in the country (excluding natural persons engaged in economic activity), or 45 per cent of all economic entities registered in the Lithuanian Register of Legal Persons. Against the beginning of 2021, the number  of economic entities in operation increased by 4.9 per cent.

Almost one-fourth of entities (22.3 per cent) were engaged in wholesale or retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.

Annual income of the majority of national economic entities amounted to EUR 0.3 million. Economic entities earning more than EUR 50 million accounted for 0.23 per cent of all the economic entities in operation.

Based on the data of the State Enterprise Centre of Registers, there were 15,081 economic entities registered in Lithuania (by 13 per cent more than in 2020). The biggest number of the newly registered economic entities were located in Vilnius municipality, the lowest – in Birštonas and Pagėgiai municipalities.
