Trust in strangers

In 2022, the level of trust in strangers was 4.5 points. Persons of retirement age are the least likely to trust strangers, with an average trust score of 4.1 points in this age group and ranging from 4.4 to 4.7 points in other age groups. Compared to 2021, average level of trust in strangers remained almost unchanged.
11.7 per cent of the total population aged 16 and older rated their trust in strangers as high (8–10 points). The biggest differences can be seen when comparing the level of trust in strangers across income quintile groups. 9.8 per cent of persons in the first income quintile group and 16.9 per cent of persons in the fifth income quintile group rated their trust in strangers as high.
