People at risk of poverty or social exclusion

In 2022, 24.6 per cent of population were living at risk of poverty or social exclusion (in 2021, 23.5 per cent). Persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion are those who meet at least one of the following conditions: living at risk of poverty, facing severe material and social deprivation or living in households with very low work intensity. 72 per cent of persons living at risk of poverty or social exclusion fall into this category according to one of the three criteria, while one in fifteen (1.6 per cent of population) – according to all three criteria.

In 2022, persons living at risk of poverty or social exclusion in urban areas accounted for 22.8, which is by 1.8 percentage point more than in 2021, in rural areas – 28.4 per cent, which is by 0.5 percentage point less than in 2021.
