Grouping of all persons by level of equivalised disposable income in cash showed that disposable income in cash of persons in the fifth (the richest) income quintile group exceeded that in the first (the poorest) income quintile group 6.4 times. In 2018, the income difference between these two groups was 7.1 times.

6.6 per cent of the total disposable income in cash was recorded in the first income quintile group, 42.2 per cent – in the fifth income quintile group. Compared to 2018, in the first and the fifth income quintile groups, the equivalised disposable income in cash increased by 18.4 and 7.4 per cent respectively.

Social transfers accounted for 67.5 and 10.2 per cent of the disposable income in cash of households in the first and fifth quintile groups respectively, income from paid employment (after taxes) – 26.3 and 64.2 per cent respectively. Compared to 2018, the share of social transfers in disposable income in cash of households in the first quintile group decreased by 2.9 percentage points, while the share of income from paid employment – increased by 2.2 percentage points.
