As of 1 January 2020, there were 107,444 economic entities operating in the country (excluding natural persons engaged in economic activity), or 45 per cent of all the economic entities registered in the Lithuanian Register of Legal Persons. Against the beginning of 2019, the number of economic entities in operation increased by 2 per cent.

Almost one fourth of entities (23.1 per cent) carried out wholesale or retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.

Annual income of the majority of national economic entities amounted to EUR 0.3 million. Economic entities earning more than EUR 40 million accounted for 0.3 per cent of all the economic entities in operation.

Based on the data of the State Enterprise Centre of Registers, there were 12,656 economic entities registered in Lithuania (almost 7 per cent more than in 2018). The biggest number of the newly registered economic entities were located in Vilnius County, the least – in Tauragė County.
